    Auditioning…What to wear on T.V.?

After spending the morning auditioning for a Cohost position with The Rhode Show, I was glad that my choice of wardrobe was both comfortable and casual.  I anticipated standing in line for up to five hours in order to secure my place in line.  With only 100 spots available, I arrived early.  I decided that my look should be age appropriate, classic and clean.  I wore jeans, wedges, tank, blazer and scarf.  Perfect…The reigning Cohost had a very similar style.  The stuffy Newscaster suit I wore the year before was noticibly absent.

I was mindful of using HD makeup for my on camera appearance to ensure lasting power and shine resistance.  I went with a classic french manicure, and wore simple silver hoops.

I kept the following link in mind when selecting my level of makeup application, I never want to be guilty of going overboard!  Here’s to be tasteful on and off camera!

    Know Your Worth

KNOW YOUR WORTH! By: Lori Grenier

One of the hardest transitions for a new stylist to make is when charging existing “School Salon” clients “New Salon” prices. It‟s exciting to know your clients are willing to follow you from school out into the big world– however, the awkward part is saying to them: “Oh, by the way Mrs. Jones, your $8.00 haircut is now going to cost you
    $30.00, etc….”

    I say…KNOW YOUR WORTH!

If you have consistently attended your classes, passed all your written exams, passion-
ately styled your clients and you‟re genuinely happy to be in this profession, then you
    deserve to get paid!

The general public is more than aware of how to recognize a great stylist. They look for someone with an outgoing, pleasant personality, a keen sense of style, and a reputation for excellent results. If you‟ve got that…

    I say again…KNOW YOUR WORTH!

Believe me, if you‟re not just giving great service for the price but giving a great service, period, and if you can not only make someone look beautiful but feel beautiful, well– that‟s what I call priceless!

Rosie the Marketer: Happy Mothers Day @Lorigrenier !!!!

    rosiethemarketer:

I am who I am today because of my mom. She taught me how to walk, to say please and thank you, how to apply makeup (and still look natural) and most importantly, self respect. My mom is the most independent person I know, and no matter what challenge life throws at her, she still has a smile on…

    Natural Beauty

When I go to work, it is often the case that I meet with a client who is celebrating a big event.  They come to me for a little “facelove” with hopes of looking more beautiful but still looking like themselves! It’s amazing how much you can learn abut someone in an hour.  I guess if they trust you with their face for their wedding day, they can trust you with a few secrets as well.  One thing they all say is how they want to look natural..  They will then proceed to tell you all about their botox, full facelifts, hair extentions, acrylics, weight loss and so on.  Still it’s always the same, I want to look natural. I’m truly happy to be the interpreter of this fine line between enhanced and natural beauty. My personal opinon is that every women looks her best with a smile. My job is to bring that out, not paint it on.

    Hair Bling!

I’m a little in love with the latest hair trend known as tinseling.  If you are bored and looking for something different and don’t want to commit to dyeing your hair or “god forbid” cutting it, I highly recommend you try this affordable/stylish option. I think a modest two or three tiny feathers with a single strand of tinsel applied to any color long hair is going to give you the excitement of something new.  Your friends will definetly notice and they will definetly like it. It’s wicked cute….I’m just saying…..
